A good week...

.......or, ''In which I send all my blog readers website-hopping''!

I hope everyone had a good, productive and enjoyable week!

This week I was able to work somewhat on accomplishing a goal I had for February, which was to finish setting up accounts for our businesses on different sites, and designing new banners for our Etsy, Artfire and blogs!

(I'd be happy if you would follow them ;))

I finally made a banner for my sisters's Etsy shop: Plume de Nikola.....
as well as a new header for her blog : Nonpareils Designs blog

By the way, what do you think of all those websites I sent you to?
I must mention that although I did work some on these sites, that's not all I did this week, and it isn't exactly why I called it a ''good week''. The little things of life: a day with bright sunshine, exercise time with my sisters, doing school-related crafts together, sitting outside in the sunshine doing school, and making and eating especially tasty foods are actually what I remember most about last week. :) But since I did accomplish the above stuff in the web world, I am only sharing that. :)

On Wednesday, I did some special things in honor of Serbia's statehood day, which you probably already know, from the previous post. But did you know what happened to my post? It went on to become ''famous''! (well, a little, at least)
Thursday, I was pleased to find comments from several actual Serbians, responding to that post.
And then I heard that the post had been linked to by the U.S Embassy in Belgrade, as well as been  recommended by another writer! That was exciting. :)
It was so fun to read nice things about myself and my dear little Serbian post! Quite thrilling, actually.

Thirdly, this week I have gotten back into learning the Cyrillic alphabet.....
(beginning with Bulgarian Cyrillic since that's what I have the language course for)

Russian cyrillic- I will learn after
It's a great alphabet...and very easy to learn, I think! Did you use secret codes when you were younger, to write messages to your friends or siblings? We certainly did. Inspired by that fact, I think I'm going to teach the Cyrillic alphabet to all my younger siblings for them to use it phonetically for fun; later they can learn the actual languages involved with the alphabet!

On Saturday, the menfolk of our family (Papa, Sam and Alexandre) went paintballing with a ton of friends. The weather was beautiful.
I know, because we ladies went skating at our outdoor ice rink. :)
Which is better: paintball or iceskating? I know which is cleaner....:)

Sam gave Felicia M. rides after  each paintball game!

Thank you Kate, for the above three pictures. I hope you don't mind my borrowing them!

Lastly, and on an entirely different note.....this week I realized that it has been a year since Aaron and Andrea Burns' wedding! Our family did not attend, but we thought of them on their special day. You can view the pictures their photographer (Jonathan Hedrick) took of their wedding; not only is the photography beautiful, the wedding itself was gorgeous: decorated as a winter wonderland!

Hi Marjo,

Did you know that Serbian language has two alphabets: Cyrillic and Latin which are both equally used among people? Also, did you know that each letter from the Serbian alphabet is one voice? This means you can learn how to read by saying those voices as they correspond to each letter within the word. It's been said, "Write as you speak, read as it's written." In other words, no spelling trouble. Here is the link about with more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbian_Cyrillic_alphabet

Thank you for honouring my country. Many thanks from me and my family.

The traditional costumes you wear are form Southern Serbia, and I live in the city of Nis (pronounced Neesh) and it is called the capital of southern Serbia. If you have any questions about specific details of the life in Serbia, feel free to ask. Also I can offer you some traditional recepies if you really like our food.

Sincerely,
Dexter

Hi Maržolena!

I've enjoyed your "Serbian" story, and just wanted to say that Serbian Cyrillic alphabet is a bit easier to learn than Bulgarian (and bit different). The reasons are summed quite well by Stanko above.

Greetings from Serbia, my fb nick is miljan.smith if you ever need a friend over here (and as I can see, you have many now :)

Pozdrav!

Hello,
Have you been to Europe before? If not, you must visit this continent, perhaps all Serbs throughout the world, and Serbian Orthodox Church, collect money for you and your family to come and visit Serbia?

Best Regards from Swedish Serbian born in Serbia

Hello Маржо! :)

I'm pleasantly surprised that you've shown interest in learning Serbian. That is so rare nowadays. Serbian Ћирилица is the best as we have the only completely phonetic alphabet in the world. Hopefully this site (www.srpskibre.com) could help you achieving your goal.

Поздрав и све најбоље
Божо
